If you are shopping for a horse that is ready to show in multiple events but also prefer the strength to be more western pleasure and an occasional trail ride, Xena is ready and waiting for you!
If you are from Michigan, you have probably seen this girl out and about doing well at the horse shows these past few summers - I know I personally have. She has shown with youth riders and adult amateur riders, and has always been a barn favorite. She loads up and settles in very well to horse shows and shows all weekend long doing as many classes as you sign her up for. Her strength is in the western based classes as she has the cutest, softest jog and a steady lope … however she can very much keep stride in the hunt seat classes, looking super cute and floaty!
On the ground, she is really easy to have around, great stall manners, and a bit of a foodie as she does love her hay! She is patient in cross ties and enjoys to be groomed. She is unstoppable in the showmanship pen as she is sharp and crisp in all her maneuvers! Under saddle she rides with and without spurs - with a preference to without for riders that dont have great leg control. Her jog is plug and go … so smooth you can ride it all day long and you feel like you are gliding around the pen. Her lope has just as much stay and carriage, with a very nice smooth rhythm. She doesnt need a ton of leg to keep her going, she knows her job. Then for the english classes, she has an adorable ground covering long trot - that again is easy to get her into and maintain. She very careful floats over poles, and knows how to side pass and navigate obstacles well. Then to top it all off - she trail rides! She has been down dirt roads, out and about down lanes, and wooded areas - she loves a good relaxing day out of the arena.
Xena does not have any vices, nor any known maintenance, and hasnt been injected. She does need a twitch for clipping. She stands excellent for the farrier, and she makes his job easy because she doesnt have a real need for shoes - great, solid, barefoot feet. She is used to turnout, weather permitting, and also does fine stalled. She does not require regular lunging prior to riding either.
